  • Daniel Ricciardo announced as replacement driver for Mark Webber from 2014

Current Scuderia Toro Rosso driver and Australian, Daniel Ricciardo, will team with Sebastian Vettel at Infiniti Red Bull Racing on a multi-year deal.

While Massa or Raikkonen's fate is still uncertain for the 2014 season, it seems Infiniti Red Bull Racing has chosen another Australian as the successor to Mark Webber, who will leave the sport at the end of the season to join Porsche at Le Mans.

Current Scuderia Torro Rosso driver, Daniel Ricciardo, will partner the triple world champion from 2014 in a multi-year deal. While Raikkonen was strongly rumoured to be a front runner - Riccardo became a clear choice to be promoted to Red Bull from its sister team - after negotiations with the 'Iceman' broke down.

The 24-year old is no stranger to Red Bull Racing, having previously tested for the Austrian-U.K. team and participating in the young drivers test.

"I know the team quite well since being its reserve driver in 2010, which should make the transition easier. It will be a great challenge to be up against Sebastian Vettel, I'm looking forward to that. My aim is to finish this season as strong as possible, for myself and Scuderia Toro Rosso. Then, once the off season is here, I'll be fully focussed on next year and the next stage of my career," said a rather excited Ricciardo.

"It's fantastic to confirm Daniel as the team's race driver for 2014. He's a very talented youngster, he's committed, he's got a great attitude and in the end it was a very logical choice for us to choose Daniel. He joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2008 and we've seen in his junior career in Formula 3 and Renault World Series that he's capable of winning races and championships, said Team Principal Christian Horner.
