A driverless lorry reversed several metres on its own, uprooting trees and damaging other properties, before crashing into a parked car on Bloxhome Drive at Serangoon Gardens yesterday afternoon.

Speaking to reporters from the Straits Times, the owner of the car, Mr Chng, 49, said, "I was shocked when I saw the damage done, but I thank God no one got hurt. We will wait for the investigating officers to contact us."

A national spotlight has been cast on road safety and accidents, especially those involving heavy vehicles, due to the recent cement mixer accident.
