Accident with lorry results in death of cyclist

The Straits Times reported that a cyclist died after being hit by a lorry along Paya Lebar Road yesterday morning. The 44-year old man, a Chinese national, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police were called to the accident at around 10:10am. It is understood that the lorry's driver was arrested for causing death by dangerous driving and investigations are ongoing.
It is the latest in a spate of at least five cycling accidents on Singapore's roads in the past three weeks. The other fatality among these occurred on 28th February when full-time national serviceman Mustaqim Mohamed died after a hit-and-run accident on Loyang Way.
