Ferrari has released a new sports package to further enhance its 599 GTB Grand Tourer, which is said to improve its handling abilities and deliver even sportier and more dynamic handling.
The new package, called the Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione (HGTE), was first announced at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, but details of which have only been revealed now.
The new setup includes stiffer springs and rear anti-roll bar as well as new calibration settings for the magnetorheological shock absorbers when the manettino is at its sportier settings. The ride height has also been lowered, which reduces the centre of gravity, and new specially optimised tyres offers even better grip.
The electronics has also been improved to provide faster responses to driver commands. The F1 gearbox now shifts quicker in high-performances settings, while throttle response has also been improved with a new engine software strategy in place. All of these combine to give the new 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE a 0-100km/h time of just 3.7 seconds.
Cosmetically, there are minor changes which include use of carbon fibre to reduce weight. New 20-inch split rim wheels are offered with special diamond-cut matte silver finish. The rear diffuser is now painted matte black to highlight the chromed tail pipes. Inside, full grain leather, black Alcantara and carbon-fibre trim, plus embroidery of a Prancing Horse and the words "Handling GTE" complete the sporting package.
