Mention Ferrari and you'll think of a few things that are accustomed to the prancing horse. The colour red, a glorious soundtrack, art in motion design and more often than not a tiny signature that reads 'Pininfarina' - one that was missing on the LaFerrari. Pininfarina has been responsible for designing almost the entire Ferrari road car range from 1951 including the Enzo, F40 and F50 but the recently introduced LaFerrari was surprisingly penned in-house.
Though Pininfarina presented its take on the supercar, Ferrari decided to have the car designed in-house due to aerodynamic and technical advantages the car possesses. However, Ferrari's Chairman Luca di Montezemolo was quick to comment that the relationship between the two firms are healthy and are currently working on two other models.
Ferrari's self designed car comes three years after it hired Flavio Manzoni - formerly from the Volkswagen Group - where he was the Head of Advanced Design.
