Mercedes-Benz has revealed its new E-Class Estate.
The car continues to sport the new grille that we first saw on the E-Class Sedan, which comes complete with a black panel-like surface that connects to the car's head lights, a design touch described as reminiscent of Mercedes' EQ models. Additionally, this grille can also be backlit as an added option, available for all trim lines.
At the rear, a chrome element connects the two-part rear lamps of the E-Class Estate, which continue to sport the star motif. The reflectors of the Mercedes E-Class Estate are also located at the bumper, allowing a larger rear opening and adding visual width to the vehicle.
Also following from the sedan is a wheelbase that has been extended by 22mm. The E-Class Estate has also increased in width by a total of 28mm, which Mercedes states translates to more rear passenger space.
Those seated at the front, however, will get access to a new MBUX Superscreen, which has been designed to appear as if it floats above the dashboard. This new infotainment system now comes with a new App Store integrated into the Mercedes me Store, which will come with an expanding portfolio of apps. At launch, apps including TikTok, the Angry Birds game title and video conferencing app Zoom are already available for the new system.
And aft of all this, the boot of the E-Class Estate now spans a total of 615 litres, which can be further expanded to 1,830 litres with the rear seats folded down. The plug-in hybrid variant will offer 460 litres of boot space, which expands to a maximum of 1,675 litres.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate is being launched in Europe with a single petrol-only drivetrain. This variant will utilise a 2.0-litre engine equipped with mild hybrid assistance to deliver a total of 201bhp.
A 2.0-litre plug-in drivetrain is also available for the E-Class Estate, which delivers a system total of 308bhp and 550Nm of torque, alongside an all-electric range of 113km.
Mild hybrid examples of the E-Class Estate will come with steel springs at the front, and an air-sprung rear axle. Customers will additionally be able to specify their vehicle with air suspension at both axles, which will allow the vehicle to maintain a constant ground clearance irrespective of the vehicle load.
