MG 4 gets more powerful Extended Range model

MG Motor has launched an MG 4 equipped with a larger battery for better range.
Called the MG 4 EV 'Extended Range', the car comes equipped with a 77kWh battery as opposed to the 64kWh battery that sits within the 'Extended Range' models, allowing it to deliver a WLTP range of 520km. The 64kWh battery-equipped 'Long Range' model we tested in March 2023 offers a claimed range of 450km.
The 'Extended Range' model is said to be the first car from MG that can go over 300 miles on a single charge, while recharging its battery can be done at speeds of up to 150kW via a direct current charger, which will see its battery going from a 10% to 80% state-of-charge in just 39 minutes.
This model also gets a 241bhp electric motor, as opposed to the 201bhp unit that sits within the 'Long Range' models. This new motor brings the MG 4 equipped with the larger battery a zero to 100km/h sprint time of just 6.5 seconds, as opposed to the 7.9 second timing of the 201bhp model.
MG Motor is offering the MG 4 EV 'Extended Range' in the U.K. with the same specification as the 'Trophy' model, although it does get 18-inch alloy wheels and a black two-tone roof. This MG 4 Extended Range comes just a month after MG revealed its 429bhp MG 4 Xpower.
