The Straits Times reported that 32-year-old tutor Maslin Ahmad Basri and her 38-years old husband Jumarie Jumahat, a taxi driver, were killed in a motorcycle accident, leaving behind two children aged 10 and nine.
Police said they were informed of the accident at around 11:00pm last Saturday. The accident occurred on the Pan Island Expressway heading towards Tuas, before the Upper Jurong exit.
Madam Maslin was riding pillion when the motorcycle apparently skidded. The couple were pronounced dead at the scene, and investigations are ongoing.
Neighbours at their Woodlands flat told The Straits Times that Madam Maslin was an effective tutor and that the couple were friendly. She believed in paying it forward, organising free classes for under-privileged children. She was again planning free tuition for the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
