A new bus service launched yesterday will give commuters in Margaret Drive, Dawson Road and Kay Siang Road improved access to MRT stations, schools and various amenities, reported The Straits Times.
Service 122, operated by SBS Transit, will also benefit two public housing projects to be completed this year - SkyVille @ Dawson and SkyTerrace @ Dawson.
The loop service plies between Commonwealth and the New Bridge Road Terminal in Eu Tong Sen Street. It offers access to the Outram Park, Tiong Bahru and Commonwealth MRT stations; Tiong Bahru Plaza; Singapore General Hospital; and schools such as Gan Eng Seng and Crescent Girls.
It is the second new service to be launched in the Tanjong Pagar area under the Government's billion-dollar Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP). MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC Indranee Rajah said residents' feedback was used to plan the route. "We had a lot of input from grassroots leaders and residents about where they wanted to get to."
