Reports have emerged, saying that Honda has given the production green light for a new Civic Type-R. According to Autocar, the model will be announced at the Paris Motor Show and a concept could debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The production model, if all goes well, should follow suit within the span of a year.
Honda's general manager of research and design had previously mentioned that the model will feature "special bumpers, wheels, spoilers and seats." The suspension is also expected to be re-tuned to improve handling.
Power could be provided by a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine with an output of 210bhp. This will allow the hatchback to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 241km/h.
