Curious about what we might see next from BYD internationally? Five of the brand's new Ocean Series models, which made their global debut at the 21st Shanghai Auto Show nearly a month ago in mid-April 2025, could provide some clues.
First up, the BYD Ocean-S concept car. As the flagship sedan of the Ocean Series, its design blends ocean aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. Alongside an elongated profile with smooth, flowing curves, its front design combines innovative lighting and aerodynamics.
Inside, the wraparound design of the Ocean-S concept car's cabin, with biomimetic seat and lighting details, creates an ocean-inspired atmosphere. No powertrain details, however, were revealed in Shanghai.
Next, the BYD Sealion 06. The new mid-size SUV is available in two versions: BYD Sealion 06 DM-i and BYD Sealion 06 EV. Both are built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and fifth generation DM technology. Externally, the Sealion 06's front has dual-track headlights in cool white and warm gold, with its rear sporting an integrated waterdrop-style taillights.
The penultimate model among the debuts is the BYD Seal 06 EV. The mid-sized pure electric sedan is also built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, and includes advanced technologies such as the DiPilot 100 and DiSus-C. BYD has said that this model is set to launch in China in Q2 2025.
And finally, the BYD Seal DM-i Travel Edition. It is described as the world's first super-hybrid wagon and combines the agility of a sedan with the spaciousness of an SUV.
Powered by BYD's fifth-generation DM technology, it offers low fuel consumption and long range. Like the BYD Seal 06 EV, it is set to launch in China in Q2 2025.
BYD has said that all new models mentioned will see market launches by Q3 2025.
