Rolls-Royce has announced that its electric coupe, the Spectre, has concluded its lifestyle analysis programme.
This latest round of testing comes after a 2.5 million kilometre technical testing programme, designed to simulate more than 400 years of use. Said to be the most demanding in the marque's 119-year history, the Spectre has already been tested in temperatures from -40 degrees Celsius to +50 degrees Celsius, an in conditions spanning from Arctic snow and ice to deserts, high mountain passes and the world's megacities.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre's performance has been assessed on specific roads across the world's most exclusive enclaves However, Rolls-Royce deemed even this insufficient, and the Spectre thus also had to undergo a lifestyle analysis process, in order to ensure that it offers its clients a super-luxury experience. The lifestyle analysis process goes beyond the standard automotive assessments to encompass how clients will use the motor car in their daily lives.
As part of this assessment, Rolls-Royce's engineers have examined the Spectre's performance around the world's most exclusive enclaves including: Sanya on Hainan Island, China; Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; Napa Valley in California; and London, in the marque's home market.
These specific city centre destinations tested the Spectre's features, including its four-wheel steering, to ensure that it offers the requisite manoeuvrability to access roads and property approaches with limited space.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre was also accessed to see if users could hold a normal telephone conversation inside the motor car while it is parked alongside a waiting helicopter, or if the strength of its internet connection was sufficient when the car was placed between specific skyscrapers. The car was also accessed to see if it could easily hold specific objects including the long garment bags used to protect formal evening suiting and gowns.
Client deliveries of the Rolls-Royce Spectre are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023.
