BMW has updated its magnificently large X7.
The Mercedes GLS and Audi Q8 rival now sports a completely reworked exterior. The most prominent of changes being the new, split head lights.
The daytime driving lights are now positioned on the upper tier of the split headlights, while the low-beam and high-beam units rest below And resting between the new lights also is the 'Iconic Glow' BMW kidney grille, already seen on the facelifted BMW 8 Series. It will come as standard on the range-topping BMW X7 M60i xDrive, and offered as an option for other variants of the X7.
The rear light signature has also been updated on the BMW X7. Here, the slim taillights have got a new three-dimensional sculpting. The chrome bar that connects the two rear light units on the new BMW X7 is also now enclosed within an exquisite glass cover.
Two new colours are being offered internationally for the BMW X7: M Marina Bay Blue metallic and Sparkling Copper Grey metallic. The car is also being offered with 20-inch wheels as standard, although M Sport models will wear 21-inch light alloy items and 23-inch light-alloy wheels also now available - the first for any BMW model.
In the cabin, the changes to the BMW X7 are more dramatic still.
The car now gets the horizontal BMW Curved Display, formed by merging a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display, alongside new slimmer air-conditioning vents.
Four-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic glass sunroof, comfort seats for the driver and front passenger, a Sport leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles as well as a wireless charging tray for smartphones all form but part of the list of standard features here.
But if you so wish, you can also have your BMW X7 with additional options including a Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, as well as ventilated and massaging seats for driver and front passenger. Opt for the Comfort Package, and heated seats can also be has in the second and third rows, as well as on the steering wheel and the armrests for the driver and front passenger.
BMW Individual Merino extended leather upholstery comes as standard for the seats of the BMW X7 in Europe, although a new Sensafin trim, which utilises a high-quality, vegan surface material with leather-like properties will be offered in other markets. The material comes with exclusive three-dimensional quilting and surface perforation for a truly premium look and feel.
Two petrol-powered engine options are being offered for the X7 at launch, both now equipped with mild hybrid technology.
Leading the pack is a 4.4-litre petrol V8 for the range-topping BMW X7 M60i xDrive, which develops a total of 523bhp and peak torque of 750Nm.
