Cycle & Carriage Kia has announced the launch of the Improved Kia Stinger, a 2021 facelift of Kia's flagship high-performance fastback sports sedan. Refreshed with a new design inside out and boasting a range of upgrades, it is set to thrill the segment with an amplified gran turismo character.
The Improved Kia Stinger includes Kia's latest driver assist and safety features, as well as improved design packages for greater space and comfort. The powerful engine remains unchanged with 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 241bhp and 353Nm of torque.
"Since the successful introduction of Stinger as a flagship model in 2018, we have seen the Stinger community growing strong with over 240 units sold in Singapore since launch. We want to continue to thrill our customers with the 2021 Improved Stinger which offers a refreshed new look and enhanced Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technologies. We believe the facelift upgrades will affirm Stinger's credentials as a high-performance grand tourer in Singapore," said Mr Royston Soh, Divisional Manager of Cycle & Carriage Kia Singapore.
The Improved Kia Stinger will be updated with a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technologies and convenience features that help to reduce the inherent hazards and protect the driver, their passengers and other road users on every journey.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist offers protection when turning across the road into a junction by identifying oncoming traffic on the other side of the road. Furthermore, it offers increased activation range when detecting a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist
Kia's Blind-Spot View Monitor technology acts as a 'second pair of eyes' for drivers by eliminating a driver's left- and right-side blind spots. It displays a high resolution video feed within the digital instrument cluster if the driver indicates to change lane with another vehicle in their blind spot. The video feed comes from wide-angle lenses hidden beneath the door mirror housings, giving drivers a wider viewing angle of their blind spots
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist helps to prevent collisions with crossing vehicles while reversing. Safe Exit Warning detects vehicles coming up from behind on either side of the Stinger when parked and stopped, alerting occupants with a sound and visual warning if they attempt to open the door into oncoming traffic.
Highway Driving Assist helps maintain a set distance from the vehicle in front on the highway, and keep the car in the center of its lane, even on a curved road Rear Occupant Alert provides a warning to the driver if they leave behind any pets or children when they exit the car
Lane Keeping Assist is now able to detect the edge of a road, as well as the lines in the road, providing steering assistance to prevent the driver leaving their lane without signalling, and Lane Following Assist helps the vehicle stay in the center of its lane.
At the front, Kia's signature 'tiger-nose' grille sits between new multifaceted reflector LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights. At the rear, a svelte new rear combination lamp displays a distinctive new light signature, extending the full width of the car and mimicking the shape of the subtle spoiler integrated into the trunk lid.
The new turn signals comprise a collection of 10 individual LED units each, arranged in a grid pattern to mimic the appearance of a checkered flag. New designs for the 18-inch and 19-inch wheel options have also been introduced with intricate, geometric designs which enhance the sporty, grand tourer nature of the car.
While the architecture of the cabin in the improved Stinger remains unchanged, with a sweeping, driver-oriented dash and comfortable space for up to five occupants, it boasts a range of subtle enhancements. These visual and material upgrades are designed to improve the Stinger's grand touring ability, creating a more luxurious ambience.
The rear-view mirror is now frameless, creating a modern look and enhancing rear visibility. The dashboard and doors are finished with new contrast stitching, while the center console is finished in matte or carbon fibre-style trim, both measures enhance the sporty nature of the cabin. The cabin also features an enhanced mood lighting system, allowing drivers to select from seven different colour options.
The Improved Stinger is now available in the GT Line 2.0-litre variant. It is also available in GT 3.3-litre variant which will be coming soon in the early second quarter of 2021. The Improved Kia Stinger is sold as standard with a 10-year engine warranty and five-year unlimited mileage warranty. Be the first to test drive the Improved Stinger at the Kia showroom, 239 Alexandra Road.
