The updated Mercedes-Benz GLA premium crossover is now available here in Singapore.
On the exterior, the car now gets a new front grille, with vertical slats now featuring behind the horizontal fin. The front bumper of the crossover has also been redesigned to give the car a sportier look.
The crossover comes to Singapore equipped with LED High Performance head lights as well as LED rear lights, while a new Spectral Blue exterior paint colour is now being offered for this updated model. The Mercedes-Benz GLA comes with 18-inch rims as standard, although additional wheel designs, in sizes up to 20-inch in diameter, are now available.
But the interior of the crossover is where the more important changes lie. Mercedes' MBUX system in this GLA - housed within two 10.25-inch displays as standard in Singapore - has now been updated. The new system now offers three newly designed display styles, as well as new personalisation options, with up to 10 colour worlds offered.
The new system is also said to offer increased performance, and comes with the ability to wirelessly pair with your smartphone via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. An additional USB-C port and increased USB charging power are also now offered, and all USB ports are also now illuminated.
And hidden beneath all these new display layouts is an improved voice assistant system, which, if the online services in the Mercedes me app is activated, is now able to learn the driver's habits and remember typical settings and routes. The system will suggest personalised infotainment, comfort, and vehicle functions, tailored to the respective driving situation.
Tick the optional individualisation package and you'll also be able to play games including Sudoku, Shuffle Puck, Pairs, and Match 3 via the central touchscreen and touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel.
An optional Burmester surround sound system is also now available for the GLA, which, when used in conjunction with the latest MBUX generation, can deliver the immersive Dolby Atmos audio experience available for the Mercedes-AMG models, said to give your favourite tunes more space, clarity, and depth.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA is being launched here with the 1.33-litre engine from before, although this engine is now supported by a 48V mild hybrid system. This engine develops a total of 134bhp and 230Nm of torque.
The Mercedes-AMG GLA35 performance crossover is also available here in Singapore. This variant gets a 302bhp 2.0-litre engine that develops a total of 400Nm of torque, which will see it reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 5.2 seconds.
