Volt Auto and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up the Temasek Polytechnic-Volt Auto EV Academy, aimed at developing practical EV skills for students and working professionals.
The academy will combine Volt Auto's industry expertise with TP's applied learning capabilities to support Singapore's growing need for EV-ready talent. Volt Auto, the exclusive distributor of Dongfeng passenger vehicles in Singapore, will provide a Dongfeng Vigo electric SUV and proprietary EV diagnostic kits for hands-on training.
Students will also be able to gain industry exposure through structured on-the-job training, job shadowing, and internship opportunities across Volt Auto's partner network.
Beyond mechanic upskilling, the academy will prepare learners for emerging roles such as EV consultants, pre-delivery inspectors, EV detailing specialists, and accident service advisors.
Training is expected to begin in the October semester of 2026. The curriculum, co-delivered by certified trainers, will be designed to keep pace with EV industry developments and serve both full-time diploma students and adult learners.
