Volvo Cars sees decrease in May sales as compared to 2024

Volvo has recorded global sales of 59,822 cars in May 2025, down by 12% compared to the same period in 2024.
The company's sales of electrified models - fully electric and plug-in hybrid models - accounted for 44% of all cars sold during May 2025, which also decreased by 20% compared to May 2024. The share of fully electric cars constituted 21% of all cars sold, while the share of plug-in hybrid models accounted for 23%.
In May 2025, the XC60 was the top-selling model with sales of 19,408 cars (down from 20,507 in May 2024), followed by the XC40 and EX40, with total sales of 14,892 cars (up from 13,640 in May 2024) and the XC90 at 8,794 cars (down from 9,072 in May 2024).
