This is my 3rd BMW car. First is used Bmw 318i year 2002 the handling is good driven for 4 years sold. Bought my first New BMW 320i year 2006 because of BMW high trade in for my previous 318i. After driving 320i for 6 years I have recently upgraded myself to another used 525i year make is 2009. The car is power and I like it so much.
Just gotten my 320i coupe (deep sea blue colour) on 3/1/2011. Have been driving for the past 1 month. Impressive car i must say. BMW is really the "Ultimate Driving" machine.
Engine is refined and smooth. Previously i have driven an Alfa and Honda Integra. Thought that Alfa is known to have superb handling but i was wrong utnil i tested a BMW. Have also considered and test- drove Audi A5 and Merc C-class, but both lose out in terms of road handling. Though i must say that Audi has a better interior design and faster on the road, but the gearbox is not as smooth as BMW. It is a bit jerky as you can feel the change in gears.
Although 320i comes with 156bhp/4-cylinders, it definitely felt much faster. Plus it comes with nice interior lightning.
If i were to change another car in the next 3-4 years, will continue to support BMW again, the new 6series coupe or convertible.
I have been driving the BMW 335 for 3 years now. What amazes me most about this car is the way the power is delivered. It is not about the raw power or how much bhp the car has. IT is what happened when you put your foot down on the accelerator pedal.
I have chipped my car to 400bhp and 500Nm torque. It is fast. I enjoy the way it handles, I enjoy the way it looks and I enjoy the way it delivers its performance.
The power comes in at low RPM and carries you all the way. The exhaust note is sweet and inside you feel like you are in a true king of the road.
Acceleration does not fade at higher speed. You will have gone way beyond the speed limit before even noticing any decreas in the car accelerating abilities.
And more importantly, it just feels like a luxury saloon inside, the climatic control is perfect, the sound proofing is just nice and the sound system is amazing. Once you are at the wheel you just want to keep on driving
Recently got the E92 320i LCI, and it's a truly awesome car. It's beautiful to look at, handling is a breeze, and the throttle and gears learn your driving style so it becomes better and better as you drive it.
The 320i is clearly not a car for racing, but it works beautifully as a daily commute, allowing you to smoothly and effortlessly overtake other people even at high speed. It's also reasonably priced, but yet not quite entry-level, being priced the same as the sedan equivalent 325i.
Unless you are looking to race, the performance should put a smile on your face. :)And yes it draws admiring glances wherever you go.
Unlike the sedan version which is apparently built in South Africa, the coupes are built in Regensburg, Germany. This makes a difference to some people, though I think it's largely illusory. The new LCI coupes are 170 bhp and make 210 Nm of torque, not 156/200 as quoted on this site.
The 320i doesn't come with iDrive as standard, which suits me fine. But if in-car entertainment and satnav is important to you, buy the 325i/335i instead, or ask how much to install the iDrive.
The car is very stable and the engine sound is blocked off with the windows closed. No problems cruising at 90km/h while negotiating a bend as the car will not wander off lane. Probably the best car one can get in this price range. And what's more, it's a continental car! It's like a magnetic object which sucks all the eager faces onto you! GOOD BUY
