Just trade in my 2009 E200 (W212 - 5 Speed) with the new 2012 E200 7G-tronic after comparing with the new 520i.
Immediately I can feel the difference especially in fuel economy (15% improvement) as well as performance.
I am getting now 13.8KM/L (60% City 40% highway) 0-100 KPH is now 7.8s
Handling seemed better than the new 520i especially at cornering and 0-100 KPH pickup.

20 months driving, hard accelerations at times and reaching 60K in 2 weeks - time for the 2-3 days major service....E250....not as efficient as claimed even though i do 80% highway (maybe 'cos of the hard drives) but hey, it, borrowing from the texts of auto authors, been punching above its engine specs. Most importantly, i've not had those nagging vibrations, mechanical faults, even engine controller failures (1.5l) which i used to have from the same Japs brand across a no of models including the tongyam 2.4; minus sticky accelerator though.
Not sure how the other German equivalents would match up, or not, in those areas but i'm not too bothered and could just recall the sales guy told me this marque would only get better with age...for now a big yes, but will see how's that at 120K:)...in 40 months' time:)....

Driven the car for 1 year and it seemed to get better each day.
Fitted with 18"AMG rims with 245 @ front and 265 at rear, I am able to make corner turns at 90 KPH w/o losing any grip.
The turbo lag in thsi new CGI seemed to improve after 20000KM of use. Looks like the turbine needed some time to run in.
Now I am able to rabbit start w/o any delays of teh power I needed to push the tacho to 5000 RPM.

Tested the E200 today...Impressive I must say in terms of the accessories given in comparison to Audi A5..
The ELEGANCE and feel in the Merz is definately better than those commons out there like Beemers or Audis now...
The drive is responsive despite a 1.8L and cornering has no body roll too...went on a straight road with uneven surfaces and it felt nothing at all.
Overtaking is smooth and easy and comfort is definately there for passengers and driver.
Reverse parking sensor is unique as it tells you from the lights seen from your rear mirror whether you are closer to the left or right and there is a camera on the front console too.
The ability to do own programming like security features, door locking, etc...think now is norm to most out there than to go back always to agent.
Overall drive is comfortable, relax and worth considering the E class as the price diff is not much in comparison to other models like C class or below...

I have tested this car against BMW 523i, Saab 9-5, & Jaguar. It has the poorest engine package and the turbo really kicks in after a few second you hit the accelerator. I am talking about E200.
I would say that E300 would probably be better choice but the price does not make sense. At 300k, i will go for 535i then. Comfort wise, BMW is on par now, something BMW enthusiasts is complaining cause some handling feel is missing.
All in all, it is one overpriced car! Of cause, it is still better than Accord or Camry, but nothing more.

Just collected my e250 in early march and when i checked the car, i found a few stain on the interior part. Then i complain because a new car should be clean. Then leave it at workshop about 3 days cause i also ask the carpet change to 3m as they give me 3a carpet and the se promised me to give 3m before i bought it!!
After a few weeks of ride, i felt the handling is good especially at 100km/h and above, feel stable and quite silent, tyre noise acceptable and no wind noise! But the ride not bad but a bit tough compared to my previous car camry. Body rolling better than camry.
The features a bit suck, no gps, dvd. Only got 6-cd changer and reverse camera. But what i like is sun visor at side and automated at the back. Keyless entry is also a good thing about this car. But one thing i dont like, is that the car got no alarm!. But i've just installed it at c&c and it assure me more.
But the gearbox got a bit problem, its not smooth as sometime it suddenly change gear and make passenger uncomfortable. The response also a bit late, full throttle need to wait about 2 sec to accelerate. 5 speed auto also disappoint me but what i like is the acceleration, faster than any other car, traffic light always got confidence:)
But, the blue efficiency is sucks, they say that my merc can get about 14km/l but in fact i got around 8km/l. I'm light foot and most of time drive slowly. The most that i can get is just 10km/l. Well, quite disappointed but thats merc, always drinker but luckily the road tax cheap!!
Anyway, i'm happy and proud of it as my car look attractive during traffic light and causing other drivers to look my car:)

This is where the E scores highly. Mercedes hasn't attempted to make a sporty mid-sized exec, just a very good one. So ride comfort both on A-roads, in town and on larger routes is very well-judged and the auto 'boxes (five-speeders on the four-pots and 7G-Tronic seven-speeders on the V6s, E500 and AMG V8) are very nice to use. There's no false modesty here - just a well put together, quiet and efficient car. Merc back on form here with a car that might lack the techno-festival of the S-Class, but nevertheless remains a sober, solid performer. Feels like it'll go for ages if the materials and fit are anything to go by - and it'll need to; it's going to end up as a German beige taxi doing 120,000km a year, isn't it?
