Test driven the Insignia earlier and found that the car is actually ok if you are looking at daily use that comes with the necessary features and power.
It comes with 2 driving modes, SPORT and TOUR.
Put to sport mode and suspension stiffen and steering tightened to allow ease of control and cornering. Its achievable without a breeze.
Tried overtaking on a straight road, no need much flaw and its done where the engine does not roar loudly like japs or korean ones.
When in tour mode, the car basically glides along its way, leaving a comfortable approach.
Overall, this car can consider and hope next facelift comes with things like push start which most or all contis have.

This car is sold as the Buick Regal in China, manufactured by Shanghai GM JV Company. I am driving the 2.0 TI version, similar to the Insignia 2.0 back home. I must say that GM has come a long way, with the acquisition of Opel, German engineering and technology has flowed into their cars. This car packs a powerful punch with its turbo charged engine and is a much better drive than my previous Audi A4 1.8TFSI back home. I was able to outrun most of the Mercs, BMWs and Audis on my 186KM drive on the highway from Shanghai to Suzhou.

I've owned this car for 3 months now and don't have any regrets at all about buying this German built car. It's truely value for your money and certainly a lot of bang for your buck. 100% German built is really a plus point and it's really shows. Audi performance, great reliability at a Japanese car price. To me, the choice is clear. It deserves the european car of the year award. One cannot expect a 2 litre Jap FC because this baby put out power equivalent to a 3.5L Jap. Having said that, the FC is certainly better than the 3.5L. About 9 km/l average.

Just bought the car and like it
Bros should test drive before u buy the BMW or Audi or VW, insignia is powerful 220 bhp and responsive

Opel seem to be in the lime light again especially with the new Insignia. Test drove it and sat in it a couple of times.
The most prominent attribute of this car is the power, thought the car is a tad heavy (continental car is always pretty heavy), the 350Nm torque is strong to give the car a very strong pull whenever u need power.

This car turned my head a few times on the road, thus i decided to go for a test drive a few weeks back. My friend who is 1.83m tall, sat in the rear. Initially we were rather unsure of the low rear, but surprisingly my friend was able to sit comfortably without any irritation.
Engine is quiet, even when i ram the car in the sport mode. My friend didnt even know i was driving at 120km/hr. He claimed it was very quiet.
FC wise, im not very sure. The SE told me its about 10-11 combined, but not expect much if you are always driving in the sport mode. If i am looking for a good fc car, i wouldnt bet on this one.
Switching to sports mode, you can really feel the difference in the handling and acceleration.
In short, i would definitely buy this car if not for the rather high price tag.
Also, im not sure about the reliabilty of this car in the long run.
All in all, it depends on what criteria you emphasis more in a car. FC? Power? Reliability to last 10 yrs w/o major problems? Looks? Price? etc
