It's reaally a multi purpose vehicle!
Swapping my wagon for a 2024 Honda Stepwgn is a decision I haven't regretted for a second. The 2.0L e: HEV engine delivers a remarkably smooth drive with more than enough punch for overtaking. Cargo space is unbelievableโwith the third-row seats folded flat into the floor, I easily hauled two tables and two swivel office chairs from IKEA in one go! To improve stability, I upgraded to larger rims, wider tyres and installed Tanabe ZT40 coilovers. The handling feels much more planted now, giving me total confidence for highway runs up North. The ability to lower the height also helps when facing those 1.9m height limit MSCP. I really hope Honda introduces a larger flagship MPV with higher power output in the future to rival the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire... Read More
Sold it after 3 yrs
walking up to the car daily, the only redeeming factor - space. kids love the 2nd row seats, able to recline and with leg rest. also the tray tables allows them to put their snacks.
boot if you fold down the last row of seats. then can fit kids bicycle without folding or removing the wheels.
ok thats it, no more good points.
Bad points - Noisy. even after full car soundproofing with extra layer for wheel arch and doors... still noisy. Changed to comfort tyres, still noisy..
whole interior black. Black roof liner, black seats, black floormats, black black black. so dark inside...
handling. its an MPV. you need to drive it slowly, yes it has power for overtaking but when you brake and turn the car wrestles with you, the car is 1840mm tall, corners taken at 45KM/H feels like the car is going to flip. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_em33GIgvE0 - link to official crash tests, skip to 3min to see it flip.
height - works against you at the older carparks. Before you buy note all the carparks you frequent. anything lower than 1.9m take at your own risk.
styling - park beside a hiace or similar to feel sad. side profile looks so similar.
Fuel consumption - not as fuel efficient as you think. when it was new. yes. 19KM/l but that was when it was new. after that 16-17km/l. regardless of what ever engine flush, engine oil, change new tyres still like that.
honda sensing... the front sensing is too sensitive. ebrake when obviously you can still see the front's car rear tyres and licence plate. like there is 2m of space and you are crawling forward. Suddenly,... ebrake!!!
after 3 or4 incidents, i switched it off!
Reliability - haiz right passenger auto door sensor spoil, about a year later, left passenger auto door sensor spoil. then less than another year.. some other sensor spoil..
whats more read the fine print. besides engine, most other parts only 1 year warranty.
i spent more $ on repairs on this honda as compared to my old mazda3.. .
Steering wheel had this strange sound whenever you turn left or right at carpark speeds.. very irritating like you push open old door? eeee,eeee.. lost face when colleagues ask y the steering like that.. whats more workshop check and check cannot fix...
get this only if you want space.
else there are alot more options out there.... Read More
