Id4 is a very well made car . Drives beautifully , has an incredible amount of pick up , lots of space and a fabulous screen . It's basically like the Audi q4 at a much better price . Daniel Wee from VW is a lovely individual who was very patient in explaining the transition to the EV .
Negatives - the app of VW is far behind the curve , the CarPlay is wired even though one can use a box to make it wireless and lastly the car is heavy and the braking therefore feels a bit weak

I've been driving the Volkswagen ID.4 for a week now, and I must say, it has been an incredibly smooth rideâ€"much smoother than I expected for an electric vehicle. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about the digital dashboard and all the electrical functions, as I've never driven an electric car before. However, the setup that the sales team provided made everything surprisingly user-friendly.
The quick selection banner at the top of the screen is a standout feature, allowing me to access key functions without searching through the entire display. This convenience made the transition to an electric vehicle much easier than I feared. Overall, the ID.4 is far more intuitive and easy to use than I anticipated.
A special thanks to Peter for going the extra mile in setting everything up for me. His help really made a difference!
Thank you, Volkswagen, for making my switch to electric so seamless and enjoyable!

Vw Id4 is indeed an all round ev that cater to the needs of everyday driving. The drive is exceptionally quiet , road noises bare minimun and I feel vw has done a great job in insulating the whole car from exernal noise. (like recording studio environment inside thecar). The car is powerful with ample hp /kw to sprint off any tight situation when driving.
The suspension is a little more on the bouncy side . I would say even Merc Glc has the same issue..But still acceptable.
The interior upholstery seem modern and futuristic but can be improved in quality.
However . When it comes to braking..ID4 performance is left to be desired. The brakes feel soft and the pedal is way too high for asian ankle especially lady drivers. We have problem braking safely on expressway driving . I guese this could be due to vw using the no brake dust brake pad which doesnot grip so well. But then I save alot of effort cleaning the wheels (no brake dust)
The soft brake issue can be mitigated when I switch to sport mode driving.Suddenly the car seem to be under the controll of the pedal especially relying on regenerative braking and driving..Excellence for once. Under sport mode the regenerative braking is very mild as compared to driving underB drive.
Best driving along busy expressway with slow and jammy traffic hardly need to apply brakes under sport mode.
The various safety feature offer from ID4 are great but can be overwhelming.Example the drowsy attention response can cause immediate braking even when you are reversing and you leave your visual attention off the mirrors.
Indeed very advance !!.
Overall, the Id4 is indeed a good car .
I have expressed my observation to Shaun . Car agent with exceptional service attitude hope vw can improve on already very good car.

The ID4 seems to have specs that are relevant to the EV landscape in Singapore. And the ID4 was indeed that for the 6 days before it failed - eg good torque, comfortable ride, quiet interior.
In the 6 days driving the ID4, my issues started with the infotainment screen refusing to boot up, leaving me with a black screen and no access to the car settings/aircon controls. But the screen rectified itself after parking overnight.
Then while driving at ard 10km/h in a carpark, the ID4 decided to apply the emergency brakes when I went over a speed hump, shocking everyone in the car including my young child. Nian Tjoe's Straits Times review may have alluded to this when it said the car's assistance systems kicked in unprovoked. One may then say that the ID4 is safe, but "Safe" May not be the best word to use.
3 days later, the ID4 displayed an alarming number of error messages for its electric drive systems, 12V battery, assistance systems (eg Park Assist, Side Assist etc), brakes, power steering etc. All these while I was driving and trying to maintain control of the car. My brakes were far less responsive (needing a lot more leg power to get any speed reduction) and my steering wheel was so heavy that turning the car needed a lot more force. I barely made it to the side of the road without getting into an accident. But I wasn't safe yet- once I got my ID4 to stop, the parking brakes failed and the car shut down totally. I had to keep my feet on the brakes to stop the crippled ID4 from rolling back due to the road gradient. And I had to do this for the 1 hour I had to wait for the tow truck, lest I rolled into an oncoming vehicle.
My ID4 is still with VW - it'll have been in the workshop for longer than it has been with me. VW have no proper explanation as to why a 6 day old car can fail to this extent, and the VW techs will likely have driven the car more than me.
And amidst all this, I saw a black ID5 at VW Alexandra when my ID4 was towed in, looking like it needed repair too. While I'm not sure if that ID5 is experiencing similar issues (to the owner of this ID5, do reach out to me if we are in a similar plight), but if it is, then that makes 2 ID vehicles in critical condition out of the 20 or so registered on the road thus far. Very alarming.
Hoping my review/experiences can help those who are deciding on the ID4. The answer is quite clear.
