Not such a reliable car.
At first week, indicator lights didn't work. Steering felt as if it was not power assisted. Was told is was over sensitive control chip. PM changed it, everything was A ok. At one year, fuel feed valve failed. Car rocked like a horse at the traffic light junction and broke down. Towed to PM and they rectified it and said there was slight engine sludge which was also flushed out. It was unbelievable that such a thing could happen to a one year old car. Rattling doors coz of loose tapes covering for power windows. Radiator problems. Condenser problems. Compressor problems. My experience is not so good. It is a slick marketing campaign to sell the car followed by a seemingly overworked workshop to service my after sales needs. I have said all I need to say. Judge for yourself.

BMW 5 series' engine oil consumption is just the pain in the ass
Agreed with Pckwpckw. BMW 5 series' engine oil consumption is just the pain in the ass. My and my colleague's have to top up every week. If you bring the thing to the BMW garage, they charge you and say "Sorry, we can't find anything wrong." Incompetent idiots.

BMW 525 Airshow
Recently purchased the 525. At it's current price it is quite reasonable compared to other cars of the same class. Only thing, it's a soon to be extinct model. HAHA. But afterall it's still a car and eventually all cars will have new successors. After driving this car for the past week i find that the car body is too heavy. The acceleration is a tad slower than my previous 2003 e240. The steering wheel is also heavier compared to my e240. Also, previously my E240 uses a foot brake however the 525 is a handbrake so sometimes i forget to release the handbrake before i move off. The seats of the car is generally quite comfortable. But i've yet to find THE spot. Back seat is also more spacious in terms of lenght. But if you are going on a longer journey. Like lets say Jurong to Changi. Avoid having 4 or more in the back seat as towards the end of the seats they curve inwards and makes it uncomfortable for people on the end. 3 average sized adults would be okay still. BMW's I-drive is very interactive as you can program this bluetooth function to your phone so you can use the carphone to make a phone call instead of your handphone. If only if could read text messages as well! haha.

What a Brake...
Test driven the 523i powered by BMW's famous in line 6 engine. Punchy 2.5L engine, fabulous sound insulation and interactive iDrive/Park Assist puts the driver firmly in control. The brake is one of the best i've tested/driven so far. With its well endowed interior finishes and creature comfort. It is not difficult to see why it is popular choice amongst executives.
