Most Value for Money Conti `
|
|
Drove this car from new in 2012 until I sold it in 2016. The experience was mostly positive and the handling was excellent. I cannot say if any other conti brands comes close to exceeding the driving experience of this car. Except for a brief encounter with the dual clutch gear box which was later replaced by RM and given 10 years warranty, there is really nothing much to complain about it.
The interior central panel can sometimes be confusing to use but for the average man using radio and music media, it is quite fool-proof. The voice activation control works very well and this is one feature which a premium in many other conti cars.

Went to try out the new Focus on their soft launch recently.
The 1st impression is the styling. The great curves and the lights certainly makes you look again, compare to the previous generation of the boxy looks.
The wagon version is WIDE and huge space, almost to those of a bigger 2.0L wagons out there while the hatch has the sportness in it.
In it is a 1.6L power packed engine that revs high (without sacrificing FC) and its quiet.
The interior has a blended in audio console which comes with bluetooth, dual zone aircon (but don't have rear aircon).
Seats are comfortable which I feel like a Mondeo inside.
There is a TREND and TITANIUM model but was surprised that Push Start is not a standard option in both.
Difference between the models, TREND and TITANIUM are :
- Push Start
- LED lights
- Body Kit
The drive was good, pickup was adequate with the 6-speed gearbox and reasonably smooth too. Engine was quiet even you rev to do a fast overtake and power was excellent too.
Handling was good too with minimum bodyroll when corner or turning fast which was definately better than the Koreans and even the Japs.
Overall, its a reasonable family car to have but the price currently (at $110k), some might look at other makes such as Jetta 1.4L TSi which has a much bigger boot space.
