Stylish City & Highway ride with amazing Fuel economy, not to mention sporty & s... `
Went and see and test drove a few cars, 2 Korean cars & 2 Japanese cars before making a decision. Price wise, this was the 2nd most expensive of the 4, the most expensive being another Japanese make. Now about the experience: The very first thing i noticed when i entered the Pulsar was the spacious cabin and head room, compared to another car which i felt so claustrophobic. The dash board has a nice touch screen monitor and the aircon had many fan speed and at 21 degrees, it felt very cooling during the test drive. The Nissan sales lady was also very nice and friendly and did her best to explain all the functions of this ride. After driving for several weeks already, i average between 15 to 17 km per liter, i'm travel everyday, 60% Highway 40% City roads and this is a very good fuel economy car. I drive mostly on ECO mode and this helps. The torque for this model is 165 Nm, it offers an immediate, speedy and smooth acceleration, good for picking up speed and overtaking. Initially, i though the boot space was small but now i realize that its not that bad after all - not ideal if you need to put baby stroller but enough space for luggage and car washing things, its a hatchback after all. I opted for leather seats - very sporty looking in Black! It's a bit like sports seat so it sinks in but comfortable enough and its not too low. There is so much leg room, my family and friends commented that it had a good height (seats) plus it was spacious enough to seat 3 adults at the back, comfortably. The car doors are also pretty solid - maybe because it's made in Spain, so follows the 'conti' style heavy car doors. The interior has a mix conti and Jap feel, the speedometer and display is very 'conti', looks similar to a certain German hatchback.

Jap brand and conti feel ride `
Shortlisted Pulsar and Elantra but finally settled for a Jap car. Interior does not feel low end and surprised with the amount of leg room at the back seat. 6 airbags and features were rather limited if you compared with Elantra. Overall ride is good and I like it. FC I am hitting 13-14km/l and yet to fully determine as mileage is only 700km. A good valued for money family car!

A hidden gem to seriously consider `
Was suggested to test drive the new Pulsar by a friend, who said i should give this hidden gem a shot. So off i went using my wife's Jazz RS to the showroom. Last nissan car owned was a Latio in 2009. First impression after walking into the aircon showroom was that it didn't look that boring (as with all nissan) and it was reasonably "Big" For a hatchback. Sat inside and the first feel was, spacious and comfy on the driver seat, I am 1.8 m tall. Telescopic steering was a plus for me as well as the lumbar support. Rear seat was extremely spacious even for the guy behind me. Boot space was decent enough and comes with a spare tyre. Went for a test drive; Engine was pretty decent for a 1.2 turbo. Compared to my wife's Jazz, the engine roar was much more pleasant. Feature wise, there was more then enough for an entry level B&B ride. Hard not to put this on my wish list after the new Impreza. Wish they could have sweetened the deal with more free service instead of just 3. The Lite model is a better buy if you are not into local fitted leather, local fitted GPS and extra 2 years warranty (standard is 3). The factory fitted seat comes in fabric and leather which i felt was good for our local whether. Overall, I would say that the new Pulsar would be a good choice for those who are looking for a B&B ride.

Test drove but not fully impressed `
Shortlisted this car to be a replacement for my almost 10 year old Camry 2.0. Looking for a family car with good fuel efficiency, good list of safety features and not too sluggish in terms of performance. Not looking to be the first car off the line, but enough power to overtake safely. Not particularly fuzzy whether there are too many similar model on the road or whether the model is used as taxi/uber. Felt the car is a little lacking in initial pickup when hard pressed. Boot space is small. Not sure of reliability since it was absent from local scene for a while. I would recommend this car if the buyer is not fuzzy about the boot space and can live with the hesitant pickup.
