Toyota Racing had a fruitful test session at Le Mans as they not only set the fastest lap times, but both Toyota TS040 Hybrids also completed a trouble free and productive test - prior to the demanding 24 Hour of Le Mans race. Both cars covered 88 laps, amounting to a distance of 1,200km.

It was also the first run at Le Mans for the new TS040 Hybrid, and Toyota made the most of the opportunity to evaluate aerodynamic and mechanical set-ups and a range of Michelin slick tyre compounds.
The 2014 Toyota Hybrid System was also put through its paces, with the team analysing the best way to exploit the 480bhp of four-wheel drive boost it provides. The system contributes to a maximum output of 1,000bhp but with 25 percent lower fuel consumption over its predecessor.
Racing action commences on the 11th of June with a four-hour practice in the mid-afternoon before two hours of qualifying in the evening. Qualifying continues on Thursday with further two-hour sessions. The race starts in the afternoon after a 45-minute warm-up on Saturday.
The historic Le Mans is the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and Toyota Racing will enter the event as championship leaders, having won the first two rounds at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps.
