Toll hike kicks in at Johor Customs

Despite the Malaysian government promising a review to commuters, the toll hike for vehicles kicked in at midnight as scheduled.
The Straits Times observed that toll charges for a private car entering Johor is now RM9.70 (S$3.80) when it visited the Johor Baru Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex at 12:35am on Friday morning. Previously, the toll costs RM2.90.
There was also a charge of RM6.80 when leaving Johor, when it was free previously.
The toll charge at the Singapore side of the Causeway remains unchanged at S$1.20 for cars entering Johor.
Starting from 1st August, the daily permit for foreign-registered cars costs $35 - up from $20. Goods vehicles are also liable for a monthly permit of $40, four times the current rate.
