In conjunction with the annual Singapore Formula One Grand Prix and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia race this month, Porsche Singapore organised a rare display of two of its most extraordinary race cars - the Porsche 917 KH Coupe and the new Porsche 919 Hybrid - right in the heart of the country at ION Orchard.

Developed more than three decades ago in 1970, the 917 KH Coupe is one of the fastest race cars ever made.
Capable of delivering an amazing 693bhp with a top track speed of 340km/h, the 917 KH Coupe was engineered under the superior guidance of Le Mans veteran John Wyer and engineer John Horsmann. It was subsequently enhanced and renamed Kurzheck (short-tail) or 917 KH.
Champion of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and the 24-hour Daytona sports car races, the 917 KH is made for speed with a great corollary beauty, and many consider it the greatest racing car of all time.
With the long line of performance sports cars that it continues to produce today, Porsche inspires and creates great tradition through its notable contributions to motorsports history.

Specially developed for the FIA World Endurance Championship and for Le Mans, the new 919 Hybrid is built for the challenge of putting tomorrow's technologies through today's toughest motorsports tests and offers solid proof that hybrids can enjoy a place on the race track.
With a highly-compact, turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine and hybrid system with two energy recuperation systems, the 919 Hybrid is capable of delivering in excess of 500bhp and a top track speed of 340km/h.
Immeasurable engineering experience and expertise has gone into the development of the 919 Hybrid. The result is a further reduction in the weight of individual components. The engine is composed of high-strength aluminium, magnesium, and various titanium alloys, which help to achieve the ideal system weight. The car's aerodynamics is designed for maximum efficiency in accordance with new regulations.
