Looking creative and funky, the all new Toyota Prius C has zipped in to muscle its way in the hybrid and hatchback segments.

Borneo Motors Singapore Pte Ltd has announced the launch of the all-new Toyota Prius C. An avid implementer of hybrid technologies, Mr Yanagihara, Assistant Chief Engineer of the Prius C, said that Borneo Motors Singapore Pte Ltd is set to complete the full size range of its hybrid cars, with the Lexus GS as the largest, the Toyota Camry Hybrid as the medium and now, the Toyota Prius C as its most compact one.

Developed with key pillars such as fuel efficiency, Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) technology, safety, fun to drive and smart innovation, the all-new Prius C looks set to take on competitors in its segment.

Equipped with the Japanese marque’s renowned Hybrid Synergy Drive, the new hybrid hatch is able to achieve an incredible consumption of 27km/L on an urban drive and 25.6km/L on the combine drive cycle while emitting the lowest CO2 emissions of 77g/km – showing proof that Toyota doesn’t just aim to become the most environmentally-friendly carmaker, but also aims to provide drivers with the benefits of owning a hybrid vehicle.

Mated to a seamless CVT transmission, the 1.5-litre hybrid produces a maximum system output and torque of 100bhp and 111Nm respectively and will travel up to 972km on its 36 litre fuel tank capacity, giving road trip lovers the opportunity to travel to neighbouring countries on a single tank. And thanks to its light weight of slightly over 1.1 tonnes, the car will finish the century race in 10.7 seconds.

In the safety department, the compact hybrid hatchback doesn’t disappoint. Equipped with a long list of active and passive safety features, the Prius C may just make some of the bigger and more luxury cars look stingy. The car has Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TRC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Assist Control (HAC). The standard 7 SRS airbags are also fitted throughout the car’s cabin.

Toyota has introduced the car’s signature colours of Lime White Pearl and Citrus Orange Metallica Mica to project the car’s funky image. Another seven different colours have also been made available to allow customers to choose from.

As an early bird special, all orders will come with an exclusive 5 years/100,000km Scheduled Servicing package worth $3,000. On top of that, owners will enjoy the standard 5 years Unlimited Mileage Warranty for better peace of mind in ownership.
