The new MG ZS, which is proving popular with families thanks to its affordability, outstanding design and digital extras as standard, received the positive rating following vehicle testing that represents real-life accident scenarios. In both the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact, the MG ZS scored maximum points and protection of all critical body areas was good.
The passenger compartment of the MG ZS remained stable in a frontal offset test and dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. A seatbelt reminder for the front of the vehicle, and driver-set speed limiter were noted as additional safety features.
Since its launch, the MG ZS has become the fastest-selling MG Motor U.K. model, with more than 400 orders taken in the first month alone. Rivals such as SsangYong, Hyundai and Toyota, have also received three-star Euro NCAP ratings.
