Volkswagen Polo is named 'World Urban Car of the Year'

The latest model generation of the Volkswagen Polo has been selected for the renowned 'World Urban Car of the Year' award at the New York Auto Show. The World Car Awards are held annually with more than 80 international automotive journalists from 24 countries voting on the best new cars in the global market.
In this competition, the Polo prevailed against strong international competition. "Volkswagen is proud of this award for the Polo whose total sales have exceeded 14 million units, making it one of the world's most successful small and compact vehicles. The sixth model generation is even more mature and sportier than previous models," says Klaus Bischoff, Head of Volkswagen Design.
The latest generation Polo is one of the most advanced small cars in the world with a comprehensive lineup of driver assistance systems that are either included as standard or available as options. Standard systems include the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, speed limiter and Front Assist area monitoring system with City Emergency Braking System and Pedestrian Monitoring.
