The eagerly anticipated inaugural Fullerton Concours d'Elegance took place over the weekend, a unique three-day celebration to mark the 90th anniversary of the Fullerton Building, home to The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. Held between 29th Juneand 1st July, 2018, the event hosted more than 30,000 visitors from all over the world.
Visitors were also treated to specially created culinary delights that celebrated the commemoration of the Fullerton Building as Mile Zero, the reference point from which all roads in Singapore were previously measured.
26 classic cars owned by discerning private collectors in Singapore and Malaysia competed in the preeminent Concours d'Elegance.
The cars are judged on criteria including originality and authenticity, restoration quality, design and styling, and elegance in three categories, namely Pre-World War II Vintage, Post War Classic (1945 to 1960) and Modern Classic (1961 to 1983). Taking home the 'Best in Show' title was a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet.
A 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet took home 'Best in Show' honours Also on display were some of the private collection of cars owned by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Sultan and Sovereign Ruler of the State and Territory of Johor Darul Ta'zim. They were displayed alongside rare and exquisite timepieces from Audemars Piguet that correspond to the manufacturing years of the cars.
The Bugatti Chiron Sport also made its Asian debut at the event, alongside three cars on public display for the first time in South East Asia.
These are the Rolls-Royce Celestial Phantom, Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge as well as a recently restored Rolls-Royce Phantom II.

Among the stellar lineup of more than 90 cars curated for the event include several unique automobiles that are one-of-a-kind in Singapore. This includes the 1926 Rolls-Royce Connaught Tourer, 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500K (RHD), 1938 McLaughlin-Buick 90L Ltd, 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster (RHD), 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GTS Convertible and 1990 Aston Martin Lagonda.
The wind tunnel model of the Ferrari FXX-K EVO is used to test the car's aerodynamics Ferrari also had a presence at the Fullerton Concours d'Elegance event, with the Portofino and the GTC4Lusso on display. Additionally, a special 50 percent wind tunnel scale model of the Ferrari FXX-K EVO was on display as well.
A grand total of $200,000 was raised at the inaugural Fullerton Concours d'Elegance for the President's Challenge. Proceeds will go to charities, causes, and social service organisations supported by the President's Challenge.
