Volkswagen Group Singapore (VGS) has announced that Dr. Kurt Leitner has been appointed the position of Managing Director as of 1 August 2019.

Dr. Leitner succeeds Florian Steiner, who will return to Europe to take up a new role with Porsche Holding Salzburg in Croatia. VGS will continue to be led by two Managing Directors. Mr. Ricky Tay will lead the Sales, Aftersales, and Marketing units, while Dr. Kurt Leitner will oversee the Finance and Admin, Information Technology and Human Resources functions.

Leitner has more than three decades of automotive experience under his belt. His career with Porsche Holding Salzburg started in 1988 during which he has held various leadership positions including General Manager at Porsche Chile and PGA Ellada, as well as CEO of Porsche Finance Group Romania. Prior to his new role in Singapore, Leitner served Managing Director of Porsche Romania for four years.
