The 2020 Hyundai Ioniq has received a refreshed exterior and interior design, as well as added infotainment technology and new active safety features.

Hyundai has introduced its redesigned eco-friendly Ioniq car lineup at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

An upgraded 38.3kWh battery with 36% more energy capacity gives the 2020 Ioniq Electric a 274km range
The Ioniq Hybrid, Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid and Ioniq Electric cars all receive refreshed exterior and interior designs, added infotainment technology and new Hyundai SmartSense active safety features and driving assistance systems.

Drivers of the new 2020 Ioniq Electric can now enjoy 274km of range thanks to an upgraded 38.3kWh battery with 36% more energy capacity.

Up front, the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid versions of the new Ioniq now sport a redesigned mesh-type radiator grille.

The front of the new Ioniq Electric also has a new distinctive pattern on the closed grille. All models feature an updated front bumper design with a silver moulding at the bottom. New anthracite gray trim seen on the rear bumper moulding and daytime running light bezels up front create a more refined and dynamic look.

The new Ioniq Electric also has a new distinctive pattern on the closed grille
The optional Audio Video Navigation (AVN) system, which displays a wide variety of useful information across its 10.25-inch split touchscreen, has also been improved and can now be customised to provide two home screen versions, and the ability to edit displayed widgets and icons.

A new Multi-Bluetooth function with the AVN system also now allows two phones to be connected at the same time to allow users to listen to each phone's music through Bluetooth streaming.

The new Ioniq also receives a new, reimagined interior that incorporates new design touches to enhance its sophisticated image. Below the 10.25-inch AVN system, a redesigned control panel for heating and climate control now sports a sleek, glossy finish.

The new AVN system features a Multi-Bluetooth function that allows two phones to be connected at the same time
New touch-type control buttons also allow for intuitive operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

The Ioniq Electric's standard high-resolution 7.0-inch LCD console display also receives mood lighting to visualise the different drive mode themes. To round off the modern interior design, blue ambient lighting has been applied across the passenger-side lower dashboard and the centre console.

A key characteristic of the Ioniq line is its innovative use of recycled or ecologically-sensitive materials. The interior door covers are made of plastic combined with powdered wood and volcanic stone, while still providing the same quality of typical materials.

The softer, more natural feel is achieved along with less reliance on oil-based products. Raw materials extracted from sugar cane are partly applied on the headliner and cargo area. Paint from renewable ingredients extracted from soybean oil is used to achieve lustrous metallic colours on key components.
