Komoco Motors, distributor of Hyundai automotive, has introduced the 2020 Ioniq at the recently concluded Singapore Motor Show.

Introducing a suite of connectivity and design enhancements, the 2020 Ioniq continues the mission of offering consumers the option of choosing an eco-friendly vehicle that fits their everyday needs.

The Ioniq Electric's battery has been upgraded from 28kWh to 38.3kWh. With a 36% increase in energy storage capacity, the 2020 Ioniq now offers a 311km Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure range.

Its electric motor meanwhile delivers a maximum power of 134bhp and 295Nm of torque. A 7.2kW on-board charager is now fitted as standard for Type Two AC charging, allowing the battery to reach 80% charge in as little as 54 minutes.

The Ioniq Hybrid meanwhile features the Kappa 1.6-litre direct-injection four-cylinder engine. Paired with a 42bhp, 170Nm permanent magnet electric motor, the combined system output of the Ioniq Hybrid is 129bhp and 265Nm of torque. The Ioniq Hybrid can operate in electric only mode at speeds of up to 120km/h.

A new 8.0-inch infotainment display is now standard on both Ioniqs. Besides being Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ready, the display provides quick access to electric vehicle information in the Ioniq Electric.

Below the infotainment display, a new climate control panel sports a redesigned, sleek and sporty finish. Mood lighting now allows easier differentiation between drive modes, while blue ambient lighting has been applied across the passenger-side lower dashboard and centre console.

On the exterior, the 2020 Ioniq now gets a mesh-type radiator grille, while the front of the Ioniq Electric gets a distinctive pattern on its closed grille. Both models feature an updated fron bumper design with a silver-coloured moulding at the bottom, and new anthracite rear bumper moulding and daytime running light bezels at the front.

Redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels come as standard on the Ioniq Electric, while the Ioniq Hybrid gets a new 15-inch wheel design.

All Ioniq models are equipped with Hyundai's SmartSense Advanced Safety and Convenience technology package, with includes, Front Collision Warning and Avoidance Assis with Pedestrian Detection with a new Cyclist Detection ability.
