Genesis's first luxury flagship SUV brings a suite of new technologies and a newfound level of luxury to the brand.

Genesis has officially launched the GV80, its first SUV.

Genesis' signature Crest Grille gives the GV80 the gravitas consistant with its maket position as a flagship SUV
The GV80 introduces a variety of firsts for the Genesis brand, including a six-cylinder diesel, electronically controlled suspension with road preview, and Road Active Noise Cancellation.

The interior and exterior styling of GV80 was the result of a collaboration between Genesis Design studios located in South Korea, the U.S, and Germany.

Signature Genesis design elements include the Crest Grille that emphasises gravitas consistent with the market positioning of GV80, and the power lines above each wheel that emphasise the car's stance and presence.

The body structure of GV80 has been enhanced with hot-stamped, high-strength steel, while lightweight aluminium has been used on the doors, hood, and tailgate to allow it to achieve a competitive curb weight.

The interior of GV80 is inspired by the elegance of South Korean architectural philosophy. A concept of 'luxury in space' defines the open feeling of the cabin of GV80, with the G-Matrix pattern serving as a motif.

Sleek, thin air vents that run across the passenger compartment emphasise the car's width in the interior
Sleek, thin air vents that run across the passenger compartment emphasise the car's width in the interior. A 14.5-inch, split-screen infotainment display sits front and centre atop the dashboard, allowing the number of hard buttons and switches to be kept to a minimum for greater ease of use.

Handwriting recognition through the Genesis Integrated Controller will help users set a destination or enter data without having to operate a keyboard on the navigation screen by using handwritten letters on the writing recognition control system.

As an authentic Genesis, the GV80 is based on a unique rear-wheel drive platform, while all-wheel drive is optional. The GV80 will launch in the home market of South Korea with a 274bhp 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine. Maximum torque is 588Nm.

GV80 models equipped with all-wheel drive in the U.S Market will also feature an electronically controlled limited slip differential at the rear axle.

Electronically controlled suspension with road preview, another Genesis first, will help provide passengers with optimal ride comfort by recognising information on the road ahea via the front camera and adjusting the suspension accordingly.
