Kah Motor Company, exclusive distributor and retailer of Honda automobiles in Singapore, has announced that the facelifted Honda Civic Type R will arrive in Singapore and will retail at $154,999 without COE.
The refreshed Honda Civic Type R sports a new colour, Racing Blue Pearl, and was unveiled earlier this year at 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon.
Featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivering 306bhp, enhanced rigidity, steering response and cornering stability, it is a car built to fuel adrenaline.
Key changes made for the Civic Type R start from the exterior styling. Updates to its grille design deliver a 13% larger opening that helps improve engine cooling. New front and rear bumpers also receive body-coloured accents and bumper cut-outs.
Everything in the cabin of the Civic Type R leads to one welcoming invitation. The steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara for excellent grip while the suede shift boot, aluminium shift knobs and sports pedals, illuminated visors and driver's meter on the centre console all add a premium, signature feel a race car of this calibre deserves. The restyled knob, with a 90g counterweight built inside for enhanced shift feel and accuracy, is reminiscent of previous Type R models, including the original 1997 Civic Type R.
The new Active Sound Control enhances engine sound in concert with the chosen drive mode, Comfort, Sport or +R, as well as adjusting the car's steering, throttle response, transmission rev-matching, Vehicle Stability Assist and Adaptive Damper System.
The facelifted Civic Type R now comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite which consists of various safety and driver-assistive technologies as an added layer of safety on top of the standard active and passive safety features.
Adaptive Cruise Control assists in maintaining a set following interval reducing the need to manually change speed, Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning helps to brake when it senses an unavoidable collision with another vehicle in front, Lane Keeping Assist System adjusts the steering to bring the car back to lane centre should the driver deviate without signalling, and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning which utilises a small camera that identifies road markers and alerts the driver if they are about to deviate from the path, even applying braking pressure to help.
Arrival dates have yet to be confirmed.
