The average monthly quota of COEs for the period of August to October will drop to 6,207 from 8,737 in the month of July 2020.

The supply of Certificates Of Entitlement (COE) for the August-October quota period will drop for Cat B cars, while Cat A and Cat E COE supply both will see increments.

Around 6,207 COEs will be available for bidding each month, down from 8,737 available in the month of July 2020, the Land Transport Authority announced on 25 July 2020.

The COE supply for Cat A cars will average 1,967 a month, while the the COE supply for Cat B cars will average 1,729 during the August-October period
The COE supply for Cat A cars (up to 1,600cc and 130bhp) will average 1,967 a month, up from 1,945 for the February-April period.

However, the COE supply for Cat B (above 1,600cc or 130bhp) will average 1,729, down from 1,966 during the February-April period.

Shoppers of large cars need not fret however, as the COE supply for Cat E will average of 903 COEs a month for the Open category, a significant 38% increase from the 655 average during the February-April period.

COEs in this category can be used for any vehicle type except motorcycles but end up almost exclusively for bigger cars.

Commercial vehicle COE bidders will have 674 certificates a month, down from 629 during the February-April period. The motorcycle COE supply will shrink from 1,155 to 934.

The returned quota for the August-October quota period from the suspended bidding periods total 1,717 for Cat A and 1,727 for Cat B
Despite the additional supply from the suspended bidding months of April, May and June, the small changes to the COE supply for the August-October quota period are a result of the decrease in vehicle deregistrations during the period of April to June 2020.

The April to June 2020 period saw 4,647 Cat A vehicles deregistered, while 3,845 vehicles were deregistered in Cat B, a significant drop from the 6,480 and 6,523 deregistrations in their respective categories for the period of October to December 2019.

The returned quota for the August-October quota period from the suspended bidding periods total 1,717 for Cat A and 1,727 for Cat B.
