The all new Honda City was introduced in Singapore in end-July for pre-launch bookings, and the car has now officially been launched locally. This fifth generation model promises more space, smarter technology, enhanced safety and improved fuel efficiency. 

The all new City sits atop Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering body, which uses an ultra-high tensile strength steel frame to deliver efficient collision energy absorption. The car's dimensions have increased by 111mm in length and 54mm in breadth, and is 10mm lower in height than its predecessor. The stretched exterior form, with a thicker and longer nose, enhances the car's strength and presence. The car also now features LED head lights with Daytime Running Lights, integrated with the solid wing face.

The cabin features numerous improvements. Driver visibility has been enhanced by reducing the instrument panel thickness, and improving the driver seat and pedal position. The new, slimmer front seat design means that rear passengers now enjoy improved legroom and knee clearance from before. The all new City also boasts best in class boot space of 519 litres.

The new City also comes with improved technology. The 7.0-inch Display Audio system offers a multi-angle rear-view camera, and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well.

Rear air-con airflow has been improved by more than 12%. And, the City comes equipped with numerous safety solutions as standard, including an Anti-lock Brake System, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist and Emergency Stop Signal.

The Honda City is powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine that delivers 119bhp and 145Nm of torque.

Mated to a continuously variable transmission, the City achieves a fuel economy of 17.9km/L, a CO₂ output of 128g/km and is rated under the VES system as a band B car. 

The suspension has also matured and evolved. The increased rigidity around the suspension installation points help to achieve superior handling stability and ride comfort.
