Skoda has released the first official design sketches of the upcoming Fabia.

The new car will make the switch over to the Volkswagen Group's MQB-A0 Modular Transverse Toolkit, and will be significantly larger, more dynamic and more expressive than its successful predecessors.

The modules in the LED head lights of the new Fabia will resemble blocks of ice
Highlights of the upcoming car include the sharply drawn front head lights and taillights featuring LED technology.

Two of the design sketches show the new supermini sporting modern and dynamically drawn lines. The diagonal front view offers a first glimpse of the flat front head lights and the wide Skoda grille, which has a chrome frame and black ribs. Large wheels also enhance the powerful appearance of the car.

The other sketches give a more detailed impression of the new Skoda Fabia's modern light units. The modules resemble blocks of ice in the sharply cut full-LED front head lights, which extend up to the Skoda grille. An L-shaped daytime running light module can be seen as well. Skoda's signature crystalline elements can also be found in the graphics of the distinctly flat rear lights that will be available in a full-LED version.

Skoda states that the new Fabia will get an elongated roof spoiler, as well as side finlets in the front bumper for excellent aerodynamics. The world premiere of the new Skoda Fabia will take place this May.
