Cat A COE - Premiums drop $1,638

Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, ended their four-session climb to slip $1,638 (3.3%) this bidding round, finally ending at $48,002.

The slip sees premiums for the category still standing at 25.8% above the 12-month trailing average.

The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 32%, lower than the average of 53% for Cat A in the last 12 months.

Cat B COE - Premiums slip $1,189

Premiums for Cat B, for larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, also took a hit this bidding round, slipping by $1,189 (1.9%) to reach $60,001.

The slip sees premiums for the category currently standing at 42.7% above the 12-month trailing average.

The total number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the quota available by 52%, just slightly lower than the 12-month average of 54%.

Cat C COE - Premiums ease by $1,000

In Cat C, for goods vehicles and buses, premiums slipped this bidding session, dropping this round by $1,000 (2.3%), to close at $43,001.

The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 66%, lower than the 12-month trailing average of 69%.

Cat E COE - Still going strong

Cat E, the open category, was the only category to continue climbing this bidding session, going up by $902 (1.3%) to close at $63,002.

The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 44%, lower than the 12-month trailing average of 62%.
