Dacia is celebrating the production of its 10 millionth vehicle since the brand was born in 1968. The milestone vehicle was a Dacia Duster, sporting an Urban Grey exterior finish, and was produced on Wednesday 20 April 2022 at Dacia's Mioveni plant in Romania.

Dacia states that of the 10 million vehicles produced, there have been 2.6 million examples of the Dacia Sandero and Sandero Stepway, its best-selling vehicle to private customers in Europe since 2017. The firm has also manufactured 2.1 million examples of the Dacia Duster, its best-selling SUV to private customers in Europe since 2018. 1.95 million examples of the Dacia Logan and Logan MCV meanwhile, have added to the total vehicle count, alongside 2.3 million examples of the Dacia 1300 and its varaints.

Dacia states that the expansion of the model range, including Sandero and Duster, and their immediate successes have made it necessary to expand production capacity even further over the years. The firm has already inaugurated an new plant in the port city of Tangier, Morocco in 2012, and opened a production line in Oran, exclusively for the Algerian market in 2016. Production of the Daica Spring meanwhile, started at its Shyian plant in China since 2020.

Dacia started assembling its very first vehicle, the Dacia 1100, in August 1968.
