Celebrations for the 50^th anniversary of BMW M have kicked off in Singapore in a big way, with more that 100 BMW M owners gathering to form a number '50' out of their cars at Gillman Barracks on 22 May 2022.

The 55-car strong formation was recognised by the Singapore Book of Records as the 'Largest Gathering of BMW M Cars in Singapore', surpassing Performance Munich Auto's previous record of 41 cars, set on 23 February 2019.

And the day was filled with more than just vehicle manoeuvring under the hot sun. Those that had gathered on the Sunday also had the opportunity to test drive the latest BMW and BMW M models and connect with the BMW M community at a private breakfast event.

And what's more, they also became the first few to view the Singapore-exclusive BMW M 50 Jahre special edition BMW M3 Competition and the BMW M4 Competition.

Both of these models feature curated M Performance parts that include front attachments, air breathers, and rear spoilers in carbon fibre.

But if it is the other BMW M models that stir your soul, you'll be glad to note that the entire BMW M and BMW M Performance range, from the M135i to the M8, will also be getting the special 50 Jahre treatment.

All these special edition cars will have their front and rear BMW logos, as well as those on the wheel hubs decorated with emblems inspired by the classic 'BMW Motorsport' logo.

This logo, with the shifted semicircles in blue, violet, and red, was first used in 1973 on the racing car of BMW Motorsport GmbH, which had been established a year before.

And the cars will also be available with iconic and historically significant BMW M paint finishes including Dakar Yellow, Macao Blue, Imola Red or Frozen Marina Bay Blue, all referring to the various eras of BMW M's 50-year history.

And if that's not enough, they will also come with an extensive selection of BMW M Performance parts, all designed to facilitate greater individualisation, and to further enhance their dynamic handling qualities.

And there's one final treat for all the BMW M fans out there: The first electrified high-performance model in the history of BMW M GmbH is tipped to be making its full debut in the coming weeks.
