Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has now started series production of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, following the start of production of the ID. Buzz Cargo, at its main plant in Hannover, Germany.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is planning to produce up to 15,000 units of the ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo this year. Once production is up to full speed however, as many as 130,000 vehicles per year can in future be produced in Hannover.
Both versions of the ID. Buzz have the carbon emissions from their manufacture and shipping offset, setting new standards for sustainability. The vehicles also use recycled synthetic materials, allowing them to sport interiors that are completely free of any real leather.
Hannover is now Volkswagen's third electric vehicle site in Germany where the ID. family vehicles are being produced, alongside Zwickau and Emden.
