COE premiums rise across the board; Cat B and E COE continue to climb

In the second round of bidding for June, Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums climbed across all categories. The continued climb sees premiums for Cat B and E climbing further above the $100,000 mark, which they broke at the last bidding session.

Cat A COE - Still going strong
Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, or electric vehicles with a power output of up to 110kW, climbed this session by $1,188 (1.6%) to end at $74,989.
This latest climb sees premiums for the category now standing at 30.0% above the 12-month trailing average. The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 38%, lower than the 12-month average of 43% for the category.
Cat B COE - Climbing further above the $100,000 mark
Premiums for Cat B, for larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, continued to climb yet higher this session, rising by $5,317 (5.3%) this session to reach $106,001.
This latest climb in premiums for the category has brought the current price to 33.6% above the 12-month trailing average.
The total number of unsuccessful bids this round exceed the quota available by 55%, higher than the 12-month average figure for this category of 41%.
Cat C COE - Holding steady
Premiums for Cat C, for goods vehicles and buses, held steady this session, climbing by $9 (0.02%), to close at $53,011.
The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 117%, higher than the 12-month average for this category of 98%.
Cat E COE - Also climbing steadily upwards
Cat E, the open category, also continued to see strong growth this session, climbing by $3,703 (3.7%), bringing the premium for the category to $104,400.
This climb means current premiums for the category are now at 27.6% above the 12-month trailing average.
The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 42%. The 12-month average for this figure for the category is 66%.
Prevailing Quota Premium
