The Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition not only gets the same quality control as the NSX, but will also be delivered to dealerships via enclosed, single-car carriers.

Acura has announced that it will be building a new, 2023 TLX Type S PMC Edition for customers in the U.S.A

The special edition Acura TLX Type S is said to be handcrafted by the same master technicians who build the NSX Type S at the Performance Manufacturing Centre (PMC) in Ohio.

The TLX Type S PMC Edition gets 20-inch wheels finished in copper - the first for an Acura
And fittingly, will be offered in a choice of three premium colours, said to bederived from the Acura NSX supercar. These colours are Curva Red, 130R White and Long Beach Blue.

The TLX Type S PMC Edition will also come with special exterior design elements including a Berlina Black roof and door handles, as well as black-chrome quad exhaust finishers. The car also will get inspired Y-spoke 20-inch lightweight wheels, sporting a design inspired by the NSX, and painted in a copper finish.

A carbon fibre decklid lip spoiler, a carbon fibre rear diffuser, lower side sill garnish and gloss-black exterior badging finish off the special edition's exterior.

And in the cabin, the car gets carbon fibre trim panels, illuminated side sills and premium floor mats with Type S badges, and a colour scheme to match the exterior paint selected. Milano leather seats with Ultrasuede inserts are standard and an individually numbered serial plaque on the lower console designates will identify that the limited-edition vehicle is handcrafted at the Performance Manufacturing Centre.

And here's the really tasty bit for the fussiest of car buyers: Each TLX Type S PMC Edition is said to receive the same quality control process as the NSX. This will include the performing of a dyno check, paint inspection and rough-road simulation. And to protect the paint during shipping, the cars will be wrapped in a specially designed car cover and transported to Acura dealers via enclosed, single-car carriers.
