BMW Singapore is celebrating 50 years of BMW M with the BMW Experience Days 2022, held at Changi Exhibition Centre from 15 to 17 July 2022.

The attendees invited to this event will be able to experience the latest BMW and BMW M models on the different circuits set up. At the same time, the first-ever BMW M electric car, the i4 M50 will also be making its first appearance in Singapore.

In the morning of 15 July, the media are the first to get into the BMW machines for a go at the various circuits, including a simple gymkhana layout and an acceleration and braking 'drag race'.

Throughout these courses, one will be able to explore the limits of the handling of the cars in a safe environment, as well as putting the acceleration to test without running afoul of the law.

The i4 M50 was one of the cars we got to experience at the acceleration and braking circuit.

With 536bhp, a maximum torque of 795Nm, and an official 0-100km/h figure of 3.9 seconds, getting up to speed was effortless for the car and quite the experience for the driver.

When pitted against its internal combustion engine equivalent, the M440i Gran Coupe, the sheer difference in acceleration granted by the instantaneous torque from the electric motor is clear to see.

With such a potent powertrain, the i4 M50 sure is worthy of its position as an M car. As expected, the i4 M50 has also received a slew of upgrades in the handling department.

It gets a bespoke adaptive M suspension with individually configured springs and dampers in the front and air-suspension at the rear along with an additional spring strut tower brace up front to stiffen up the chassis.

When compared to the 3 Series, the i4 M50 also features wider track width all around to ensure stability.

Despite the i4 M50's potent performance while packing a similar sized battery as the i4 eDrive40, it still manages a highly useable WLTP range of up to 521km.

When it comes to charging, the Combined Charging Unit allows for DC charging at rates of up to 205kW, and AC charging up to 11kW.

As with the rest of the lineup of M cars in Singapore, the BMW i4 M50 is also available as a 50 Jahre special edition, exclusive to Singapore. This model will feature several unique components, including the BMW Motorsport signet along with specially curated BMW M Performance parts.

The exterior of the i4 M50 50 Jahre special edition will receive the BMW M Carbon exterior package with front end side air intake trim, exterior mirror caps, rear apron side trim elements and a carbon fibre rear spoiler, along with other bits such as the 20-inch BMW Individual bi-colour aerodynamic wheels.

The new BMW i4 M50i is currently available for orders in Singapore. With its first batch already sold out, interested buyers will get their cars in the next couple of months.
