MINI organised a breakfast get-together for the media and gave us a chance to have the first look at the Pat Moss Edition along with two other new editions.

On the morning of 27 July, MINI Singapore invited the media to get together for a nice breakfast at SPRMKT, a quaint little cafe situated at Dempsey Hill. With parking lots out front, it is quite the perfect location for a car-centric gathering.

Upon arrival, we spot a couple of MINIs sitting pretty. This includes the striking and limited Pat Moss Edition that was launched at the event, along with the upcoming MINI Clubman Untold Edition and MINI Electric Resolute Edition, which will be officially introduced to the public at MINI's roadshow to be held from 1 August to 10 August.

Three new MINI editions were present at the breakfast gathering
Among the three exciting new editions, the focus of the day was on the Pat Moss Edition. With just 800 units available globally, five are allocated to Singapore, available in a mix of 3-Door and 5-Door Cooper S variants - it is a truly exclusive MINI to get your hands on.

To explain who Pat Moss is, and why her name is found on this new MINI edition, we'll have to travel 60 years back to May 1962.

It was on this date that a Classic Mini became the winner at an international rally event, the Tulip Rally from the Dutch municipality of Noordwjik to the French Riviera and back. And it was none other than Pat Moss, an exceptional female driver, who was behind the wheel.

The Pat Moss Edition sports a unique variant of MINI's Multitone Roof
While the MINI Pat Moss Edition is available in several guises, including the Cooper S 3-Door, Cooper S 5-Door and John Cooper Works variants, the one that was showcased to the media today was a 5-Door Cooper S variant in Midnight Black metallic.

The Pat Moss Edition Cooper S are fitted with the John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit as standard, and are available in the aforementioned Midnight Black, along with Pepper White exterior paintwork.

This unit also sports a Pat Moss Edition-specific variant of MINI's Multitone Roof with a gradient that goes from Chilli Red to Melting Silver and Jet Black, giving it a truly unique and eye-catching flair.

On these Pat Moss Edition Cars, you will find the stylised tulip, symbolising the Tulip Rally win, on various parts including an emblem on the C-pillars, side scuttles and also the floating wheel hub covers.

Key facts of the 1962 Tulip Rally can be found on the front fenders
The key facts of the 1962 Tulip Rally also appears below the side scuttles on the front fenders, stating the route, the distance of 2,500km, the vehicle - the Mini Cooper and its starting number 104, along with MINI's slogan 'Born To Compete'.

Yet another discerning feature on the Pat Moss Edition Mini is the horizontal white stripe across the bonnet, which carries a subtly raised printing of the registration number of the classic Mini that won the 1962 Tulip Rally - 737 ABL.

The original signature that Pat Moss wrote on the bonnet of her car after one of her victories has also been adapted and adorns the front bumper and the dashboard as a graphic imprint.

Subtle yet meaningful touches within pays homage to Pat Moss and her co-driver Ann Wisdom
Inside, apart from Pat Moss' signature, you can find the familiar tulip graphic on the sports steering wheel. And on the driver side of the dash, there is an abstract depiction of engine pistons moving up and down which also doubles to form the shape of the letters 'M' and 'W', symbolising 'Moss' - Pat Moss, and 'Wisdom' - Ann Wisdom, who was the former's co-driver.

The Pat Moss Edition is a tribute to a pair of remarkable female racing pioneers who pushed all boundaries and proved the competency of sportswomen in a male-dominated sport. And it manages to do so with truly unique and bold touches, resulting in a special and attractive MINI.

The MINI Clubman Untold Edition and MINI Electric Resolute Edition, which feature unique colours, accents and wheels, will be available from 1 August. More information will be released in due time.
