The Bentley Bentayga EWB Mulliner Gallery, a special one-off car that's become a drivable installation of exquisite hand crafted art has made its stunning public debut at The Quail. The car features six veneer panels individually airbrushed to celebrate the recent work of Mulliner, Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division.
Piers Dowell, who crafted the airbrushed veneers, is renowned for being one of the most technically accomplished airbrush artists in the world. He works from his studio in Tenbury Wells, where he creates artworks of incredible detail and vibrant colour using murals, guitars, racing helmets and any number of other non-porous 3D objects as substrate.
The six veneer panels form a ring around the cabin, making the Bentayga a literal gallery on wheels The masterful artist has been honing his skills for the past 31 years, and is now producing work that is not only highly unique but also only technically achievable by a handful of people in the world.
The four different yet special projects that have been featured are the restoration of the 1939 Mk5 Corniche, Bentley Blower Continuation Series, Bentley Mulliner Bacalar and the Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner.
These four projects feature on the four door waistrails. They join two other front fascias found in the interior that together, form a ring of wood around the cabin, with each door featuring a different Mulliner project.
