Caterham has reintroduced its heritage range following the launch of two new models, the Super Seven 600 and Super Seven 2000.

Ahead of the brand's 50th anniversary next year, the latest editions take inspiration from Caterham's early 'Super Sevens' introduced in the 1970s and popularised through the 1980s; a classic, British, lightweight, two-seater sports car with the perfect blend of style and performance, yet re-imagined for the 21st century.

The Super Seven 600 are for drivers who want a more back-to-basics Caterham experience
The Super Seven 600 boasts a more accessible, pure, simple, driving experience at a lower speed. The Super Seven 600 is powered by a 660cc Suzuki turbo engine producing 84bhp as found in the Seven 170 model, and achieves a zero to 100km/h sprint time of 7.0 seconds. The Super Seven 600 also shares the live axle chassis design of the Seven 170 model.

For more hardcore fans looking for raw power, faster speeds and a car that wants to be driven more enthusiastically, the Super Seven 2000 may be the more appealing vehicle. A 2,000cc Duratec engine which generates 180bhp and does zero to 100km/h in 5.0 seconds, this model is closely related to Seven 360 and as such utilises the popular de-Dion chassis found in the majority of Caterham models.

Drivers of Super Seven 2000 can up performance even further by adding a sport suspension package, featuring a rear anti-roll bar and adjustable platforms as well as front ventilated discs with quad piston calipers.

The Super Seven 2000 is the racier version of the heritage duo, with options to upgrade to beefier suspension and brakes
From the outside, both Super Seven vehicles come with the flared front wings previously seen on Super Seven 1600, Sprint, Super Sprint and a plethora of Caterham models throughout the 1970 and 80s. Meanwhile, the Super Seven 600 boasts 14-inch silver Juno wheels, while Super Seven 2000 features 14-inch Classic wheels.

Drivers can pick from a range of exterior colours including Gravity Black, Exocet Red, Vintage Green and Firecracker Yellow. Exterior paint finishes also come in the form of Bourbon, Ashdown Green, Windsor Blue, Fawn.
